Restaurants with an industrial look

For some time industrial design has influenced many of the newly opened businesses. It is an unstoppable trend and we’re going to give you the keys to achieve this look in your restaurant. These days, in addition to offering a delicious menu, customers need a cosy atmosphere that improves their culinary experience.

So here we have some tips on how to get that industrial look:

  1. Focus on a concept reminiscent of the industrial age: you just have to look for and choose an object that breathes this design trend, it could be a bicycle, a wheel or pipes that become tables, chairs or lamps… unique and infinite parts, as far as your imagination may go.
  2. Used raw materials: there is a current towards eco-friendly and sustainable design, encountered more and more in the use of raw metal, exposed brick and wooden material. You can adapt these traditionally rustic elements to create a highly visual and attractive industrial design for your customers.
  3. Wall-art: Using textures and patterns on the walls of a restaurant is common practice, but what we propose is to go one step further and make use of a contemporary work by a local artist, an illustration made on the same wall or a graffiti. You can go with the conceptual theme of your business or it may even be the logo itself.
  4. Minimalist furniture: You will have to look for clean and simple lines, where the customer finds, above all, functionality.
  5. Ambient light: Lighting design is another important part that is often left out. Using lamps, even light bulbs are a key part in an industrial design. Without ever forgetting the intensity of the light and its visual effect on the dishes that we offer diners, as it can influence the degree of desirability of the food.
  6. Subtle colour palette: Use the palette of Scandinavian colours, where beige, earth, copper and metallic colours prevail combined with large white surfaces and accents of colour achieved through plants, art or subtle decorative elements.
  7. Integrating interior and exterior space: If your premises has a terrace, use large glass extensions or large open doors in order to connect the exterior and interior in a natural way thanks to the use of the aforementioned raw materials.

Now you are ready to start with your industrial design. Go ahead, your diners await.
